Complementary feed to reduce the risk of hepatosis and ketosis.
Composition: calcium propionate, calcium carbonate, oak bark, magnesium sulphate heptahydrate.
Analytical constituents: calcium 16,8%, crude fibre 6,8%, sulphur 0,78%, magnesium 0,6%.
Nutritional additives: trace elements (mg/kg): zinc (zinc oxide, 3b603) 500, manganese (manganous sulphate monohydrate, 3b503) 500, cobalt (cobalt sulphate heptahydrate, 3b305) 200, selenium (sodium selenite, E8) 70; vitamins (g/kg): choline chloride 120, niacin 20, vitamin C 5, vitamin E 0,5.
In case of acute energy deficiency in cows before parturition and at the beginning of intensive lactation, calcium propionate reduces the risk of hypoglycaemia because it acts as a glucose precursor and reduces mobilization of deposited fat for energy needs. As a result, the liver overload and the amount of free fatty acids are reduced.
Use. Add to feed for cows in hepatosis and ketosis risk groups in case of energy deficit before parturition and at the beginning of intensive lactation, to stabilize liver functions. For horses, sheep, goats, pigs – in case of hepatotoxic risk (feed contaminated with mould, pathogenic fungi, pesticide and other toxins).
Doses. Cows 100 – 150 g 1 – 2 times a day 10 – 12 days before and after parturition. In case of hepatotoxic risk for cows 100 g 2 times a day, horses 20 – 30 g, sheep, goats, pigs 10 – 15 g 1 – 2 times a day.
